Section 10-A2004. HOUSING CHARACTERISTICS

2004.1The 2000 Census reported that 28 percent of the area’s housing stock consisted of single family attached homes (row houses and townhouses), while 44 percent consisted of apartments in multi-family buildings of 20 units or more. These are higher than the percentages for the city as a whole. Less than three percent of the homes in Mid-City were single family detached homes, significantly lower than the 13 percent for the city as a whole. In 2000, 10 percent of the housing units in Mid-City were vacant. 2004.1
2004.2The 2000 Census reported that 31 percent of the households in the Planning Area were homeowners and 69 percent were renters. The ownership rate is lower than the 41 percent rate for the city as a whole. 2004.2
