Section 10-A2306. PROJECTIONS

 

2306.1Given it’s largely built out character, Rock Creek West is projected to be among the slowest growing areas of the city during the next 20 years. Fewer than 3,000 additional households are forecast for the 2005-2025 period, which is comparable to the annual growth rate experienced during 1990-2005. A six percent increase in population, from 85,800 to about 91,000, is projected. Most of the growth is expected to consist of multi-family housing in mixed use projects along the avenues, and single family homes on scattered vacant sites such as the 17-acre St. Patrick’s property on Foxhall Road. 2306.1

 

2306.2The number of jobs is expected to increase from about 48,500 today to 51,600 in 2025. Most of the increase is likely to take place in proximity to the Metro stations as additional retail and local-serving office development occurs. 2306.2
