Section 10-B2802. SURVEYING SERVICES

    2802.1Surveying services to be performed by a Registered Land Surveyor shall be limited to boundary surveys, location surveys and wall examinations pursuant to this chapter.

     

    2802.2If the Office of the Surveyor of the District of Columbia is unable to complete and record a survey or to perform a wall examination within ninety (90) days after a written request for a survey service has been filed, the Office of the Surveyor shall advise the service requestor of an estimated date when the service will be performed and that he or she may elect to reaffirm the request, or to withdraw it and proceed to retain a Registered Land Surveyor to perform the service.

     

    2802.3If an individual has first ordered a service and paid the required fee for the Office of the Surveyor to perform the work and then elects to proceed with the services of a Registered Land Surveyor, the individual may obtain a refund on that portion of the fee not already charged against the service order by making a written request to the Office of the Surveyor for a refund.

     

    2802.4Where the retention of the services of a Registered Land Surveyor is elected, the Office of the Surveyor shall prepare a work order for the requestor's use to present a Registered Land Surveyor of the requestor's choice.

     

    2802.5Prior to commencement of services, a Registered Land Surveyor shall sign and submit the work order request to the Office of the Surveyor.

     

    2802.6Upon completion of the services by the Registered Land Surveyor, as evidenced by the recording of a plat or filing of a wall examination report, the Office of the Surveyor shall note completion of the services on the work order request form.
