Section 10-B2810. WALL EXAMINATIONS AND PREPARATION OF REPORTS

    2810.1Wall examinations required by the D.C. Building Code may be made and certified by Registered Land Surveyors. However, a Registered Land Surveyor shall not perform any wall examination wherein the construction layout work was done by that Registered Land Surveyor or by persons related to or affiliated with that Registered Land Surveyor or is in any manner affiliated with the firm for which that Registered Land Surveyor is employed.

     

    2810.2The result of each wall examination shall be reported in the following format:

     

    (a)The report shall be on white tracing paper of one hundred percent (100%) rag content, approximately sixteen pounds (16 lbs.), twenty-eight thousandths of an inch (0.0028 in.) thick, or equivalent to Clearprint Co., designation 100-H;

     

    (b)Sheet sizes shall be twelve inches by fifteen inches (12 in. x 15 in.) or eighteen inches by twenty-three inches (18 in. x 23 in.);

     

    (c)All property lines and property line dimensions shall be in black lead pencil or in black ink on the original of the report, and the second copy for the building inspector may be a carbon copy, or a duplication of the original in either pencil or black ink;

     

    (d)Walls shall be shown in ink, on both copies, of the same color used in the field notes for the particular job, and any previously existing wall pertinent to the wall examination shall be shown on both copies in ink of a different color;

     

    (e)Line work and lettering may be done with the standard type drafting pen or felt tip pen; drawing ink shall be Higgins waterproof ink or equivalent for drafting pen use and the felt tip shall be a stylist brand fine-line waterproof pen or equivalent;

     

    (f)The property shall be oriented so that the north direction is toward and perpendicular to the top of the sheet; and

     

    (g)Wall reports shall be drawn according to standards currently employed by the Office of the Surveyor, such as illustrated by wall reports filed for the following:

    2810.3Each wall examination report shall bear the registration seal and contain a certification in the following format:

     

    I certify that the wall locations shown hereon have been determined by me, or under my direction in accordance with this chapter and that I have not engaged in the construction layout on this site.
