Section 10-B5399. DEFINITIONS

5399.1When used in this chapter, the following terms and phrases shall have the meaning ascribed:
Community Development Corporation - a community-based and community-controlled nonprofit corporation organized under chapter 5 of Title 29 of the D.C. Code, to carry out certain public purposes and with articles of incorporation and bylaws that are consistent with rules and regulations issued by the Mayor pursuant to D.C. Code §1-2219 (Supp. 1985).
Economic Development Finance Corporation - a quasi-public, nonprofit corporation organized for the purpose of stimulating economic development, business development, and job creation by assisting in the implementation of development projects within the District of Columbia and by providing financial and technical assistance to eligible businesses.
Eligible projects - any commercial, industrial, real estate, business, or other economic development activity designed to reduce conditions of blight, economic depression, unemployment of widespread reliance on public assistance, or which otherwise would contribute to the revitalization and improvement of economic conditions within the District.
Neighborhood development strategy - a program of concentrated community development activities including a comprehensive strategy for stabilizing and upgrading the area.
