Section 11-C704. MINIMUM PARKING REQUIREMENTS FOR ADDITIONS TO EXISTING BUILDINGS OR STRUCTURES

  • 704.1 An addition to an existing building triggers additional parking requirements only when the gross floor area of the building is expanded or enlarged by twenty-five percent (25%) or more beyond the gross floor area on the effective date of this title, or in the case of a new building, the gross floor area used to calculate the initial parking requirement. The additional minimum parking required shall be calculated based upon the entire gross floor area added. 

    704.2 Notwithstanding Subtitle C § 704.1, additions to historic resources shall be required to provide additional parking spaces for an addition only if:

    (a) The addition results in at least a fifty percent (50%) increase in gross floor area beyond the gross floor area existing on the effective date of this title; and

    (b) The resulting requirement is at least four (4) parking spaces.
