202.1   Except in the NC-13 zone, rear yards as required in the NC zones may be measured according to the following rules:

    (a) If the subject lot does not abut an alley, the rear yard shall be measured as follows:
    (a) Measure a horizontal plane from the mean elevation of the rear lot-line, parallel to the rear lot line, into the lot, the distance of the required minimum yard identified in the development standards table corresponding to the NC zone; and
    (b) From the furthest point from the rear lot-line along the horizontal plane identified in the previous paragraph, define a vertical plane up to the maximum height limit of the zone.  This vertical plane will form the rear yard; and

    (a) Measure a horizontal plane twenty-five feet (25 ft.) above the mean elevation of the rear lot-line, parallel to the rear lot line, into the lot, the distance of the required minimum yard identified in the development standards table corresponding to the NC zone; and
    (b) From the furthest point from the rear lot-line along the horizontal plane identified in the previous paragraph, measure a vertical plane up to the maximum height limit of the zone.  This vertical plane will form the rear yard.
