Section 14-1503. EXEMPTIONS FROM ASSESSMENT

1503.1The Director may waive or defer an assessment of the cost to the District of Columbia of correcting a violation totally or partially upon application of the owner.
1503.2Except as provided in § 1503.3, the Director may waive or defer the assessment only upon an affirmative showing of good cause by the owner.
1503.3The Director may waive or defer the assessment without an affirmative showing of good cause by the owner, if the Director finds the owner has not acted in bad faith, and the following applies:
(a)The owner is a non-profit organization as defined under Federal or District tax laws;
(b)The owner is a natural person over the age of sixty (60) years; or
(c)The housing accommodation is receiving assistance under any program administered by the Department of Housing and Community Development.
