Section 15-2353. METER TESTING FACILITIES

  • 2353.1Each gas corporation subject to the Commission's jurisdiction shall maintain or designate a meter shop within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area for the purpose of inspecting, testing, and repairing meters.  The gas corporation shall be responsible for the operation of a meter shop.

    2353.2The shop shall be open for inspection by authorized representatives of the Commission at all reasonable times, and the facilities and equipment, as well as the methods of making the measurements and test employed, shall be subject to the Commission’s approval.

    2353.3The area within the meter shop used for the testing of meters shall be designed so that the meters and meter testing equipment are protected from draft and excessive changes of temperature.

    2353.4The meter shop shall be air-conditioned, if necessary, in order to achieve satisfactory temperature control.
