Section 17-2816. USE OF SODIUM PENTOBARBITAL

2816.1The Director may issue to any animal facility or humane society which so requests a special permit for the purpose of buying, possessing, and using sodium pentobarbital to terminate humanely the lives of injured, sick, homeless, or unwanted domestic pets and animals. The application for a special permit and its renewal thereof, shall he accompanied by the required fee.
2816.2Any animal facility authorized to terminate humanely the lives of domestic pets and animals shall maintain complete and accurate records of the following:
(a)All sodium pentobarbital received, administered, or otherwise disposed, including all sodium pentobarbital administered in an injectable form as supplied hy the manufacturer; and
(b)The date the drug was administered, type of animal, weight of animal, amount of sodium pentobarbital administered, and the signature of the veterinarian or authorized employee.
