Section 17-3708. WAIVER OF EXAMINATION - SPECIALTY COSMETOLOGY OPERATOR

    3708.1The Board may waive the examination requirements of §3707 for an applicant who meets the training, experience, and qualifications requirements to practice braiding or electrology and who proves to the satisfaction of the Board that the applicant was practicing braiding or electrology on a substantially full-time basis within the District of Columbia for three (3) years during the five (5) years immediately preceding the effective date of this chapter.

     

    3708.2The application for waiver of examination shall be filed within two years of the effective date of this chapter.

     

    3708.3An applicant shall demonstrate to the Board that the applicant has been practicing braiding or electrology on a substantially full-time basis by submitting evidence satisfactory to the Board that include the following:

     

    (a)Affidavits from the applicant and three (3) licensed cosmetologists attesting to the nature of applicant's practice during the applicable time period;

     

    (b)An affidavit from a certified public accountant or bookkeeper of the applicant's income tax or business record covering the applicable time period; and

     

    (c)Any other information the Board considers relevant.
