Section 17-8906. JUDICIAL FILINGS

8906.1No person carrying on, conducting, or transacting business under a trade name shall be entitled to file an action under that trade name in a District court until the person has properly completed the registration with the Superintendent according to this chapter.
8906.2A person’s failure to properly register a trade name shall not impair the validity of a contract or act of such person and shall not prevent such person from defending a suit in a District court.
