Section 18-2305. WALKING AND STANDING ON SIDEWALKS AND ROADWAYS

    2305.1Whenever possible, pedestrians shall walk on the right half of crosswalks.

     

    2305.2Where sidewalks are provided, it shall be unlawful for any pedestrian to walk along and upon an adjacent roadway.

     

    2305.3Where sidewalks are not provided, any pedestrian walking along and upon a street or highway shall, when practicable, walk only on the left side of the roadway or its shoulder facing traffic, which may approach from the opposite direction.

     

    2305.4No person shall stand in a roadway for the purpose of soliciting a ride from the driver of any vehicle.

     

    2305.5Upon the approach of an authorized emergency vehicle, pedestrians shall yield right-of-way and immediately proceed to the nearest point of safety.
