Section 19-903. DUTIES OF THE OFFICERS

    903.1It shall be the duty of the President to preside at all meetings of the Board, to appoint all committees not otherwise provided for, and to sign all papers, communications, and instruments which may require the President's official signature. The President shall exercise a general supervision over the affairs of the Library Board of Trustees and shall be an ex officio member of all committees. The President may vote in the election of officers and in the appointment or removal of the Director. The President may also vote on other issues if the vote would change the result or if the vote is taken by secret ballot.

     

    903.2In the absence of the President, the Vice-President shall preside at all meetings of the Board, and shall generally discharge all duties of the President in case of the latter's absence from the District of Columbia or inability to act.

     

    903.3The duties of the Director as Secretary of the Board shall be to keep a permanent record of the meetings of the Board, to have custody of the records and general papers of the Board, and to perform the other functions usual to this office. The duties of the Director as Treasurer of the Board shall be to keep the financial accounts of the Library.
