Section 20-3101. APPLICABILITY

3101.1This Chapter shall apply to all special flood hazard areas (SFHAs) within the jurisdiction of the District of Columbia (the District) as designated in the Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) and Flood Insurance Study (FIS) for the District prepared by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), effective September 27, 2010.
3101.2The FIS for the District, effective September 27, 2010, and the accompanying FIRM are incorporated by reference as a part of this Chapter and serve as the basis for establishing SFHAs.
3101.3 This Chapter shall be applicable to all applicants for building permits for new construction or development, including substantial improvements, in an SFHA.
