Section 21-1832. INSPECTION

    1832.1Upon the presentation of appropriate credentials to the well owner and the property owner where a well is sited, the Department may:

     

    (a)Access the property where a well is sited;

     

    (b)Inspect and copy any records kept in accordance with this chapter, including any reports, information, or analytical data; and

     

    (c)Inspect and collect a sample of any soil or water to assist in regulating the quality of waters of the District and ensuring compliance with this chapter, or with conditions stated in the well construction building permit or well registration.

     

    1832.2If the construction, maintenance, or abandonment of a well is conducted contrary to the approved well construction building permit or work plan or in a manner that poses or causes a hazard to the public health and safety or the environment, the well owner shall immediately stop all work and immediately notify the Department.

     

    1832.3A well owner shall ensure that the Department-approved well construction building permit and work plan are present at the site during well construction activities and available to the Department’s site inspector upon request.
