Section 22-B2034. CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS

    2034.1All hospitals shall be designed, constructed, and maintained in a manner that is safe, clean, and functional for the type of care and treatment to be provided. The standards for the facilities are set forth below.

     

    2034.2New construction shall comply with the following codes and guidelines to provide a safe and accessible environment that is conducive to the care and treatment to be provided:

     

    (a)The BOCA (Building Officials and Code Administrators) National Building Code;

     

    (b)Life Safety Code (National Fire Protection Association 101);

     

     

    (c)Health Care Facilities (National Fire Protection Association 99);

     

    (d)Guidelines for Design and construction of Hospitals and Health Care Facilities;

     

    (e)National Electrical Code; and

     

    (f)Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards.
