Section 22-B216. QUALITY ASSURANCE/ACCESS TO RECORDS

    216.1A District of Columbia Central Cancer Registrar or other person designated by the Director is authorized to visit any health care facility or health care provider to review and duplicate reports required by this chapter or records that contain information required to be submitted pursuant to this chapter to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the information.

     

    216.2A health care facility or health care provider that treats or diagnoses cancer in the District shall make the following reports available to the D.C. Registrar for review or duplication, upon request:

     

    (a)Reports of tissue or cellular analysis performed to determine the presence or absence of cancer;

     

    (b)Results of radiological examinations, including x-rays, performed to determine the presence or absence of cancer;

     

    (c)Reports of diagnoses of cancer and reasons for the diagnoses, including any diagnostic report of the primary clinician or consultant;

     

    (d)Portions of medical records that contain specific information required to be reported pursuant to these rules; and

     

    (e)Any other record or report necessary to ensure the completeness and accuracy of information provided in reports required by these rules.
