Section 22-B3423. RESIDENT ACTIVITIES

    3423.1Each community residence facility with fifty (50) or more residents shall employ a full-time resident activities specialist who shall hold current registration in the National Therapeutic Recreation Society as a therapeutic recreation specialist, or possess the qualifications necessary for that registration, or have two (2) years paid experience in a program or service directly related to therapeutic recreation.

     

    3423.2Each community residence facility shall provide, without additional charge, books, periodicals, newspapers, and audio and audio-visual entertainment within the community residence facility.

     

    3423.3Community residence facility staff shall become aware of and familiar with appropriate local activities and events that the residents might enjoy and shall actively encourage the residents to participate in them.

     

    3423.4Local activities shall include, but not be limited to, those that stimulate interest and participation in reading, hobbies, music, religion, drama, arts and crafts, games, sports and, where appropriate, senior citizens’ clubs and meal programs.

     

    3423.5To the maximum extent possible, each community residence facility shall utilize the services of public and voluntary resources in promoting resident participation in activities.
