Section 22-B3430. ARCHITECTURAL REQUIREMENTS

    3430.1The provision of space in a community residence facility and the way in which the community residence facility is equipped, furnished, and maintained shall provide a comfortable, congenial, home-like setting for residents and staff.

     

    3430.2Residents shall be provided access to and encouraged to utilize fully all space required by this section to be provided in the community residence facility.

     

    3430.3When it is necessary to restrict certain space from residents’ use, that space shall be located in the most remote portions of the community residence facility possible.

     

    3430.4Group living space shall be provided for social and recreational purposes, including a living room or recreation room, and a dining room.

     

    3430.5If minimum area requirements for community space in community residence facilities can be met, dining and living areas may be located within the same room.

     

    3430.6The combined total of all community space provided by the community residence facility shall afford at least twenty-five square feet (25 ft.2) of space above the basement per resident.
