Section 22-B6800. GENERAL PROVISIONS

    6800.1No person shall receive, possess, use, transfer, own, or acquire radioactive material, except as authorized in a specific or general license issued pursuant to this chapter, or as otherwise provided in this chapter.

     

    6800.2All other sources of radiation, unless exempt from this chapter, shall be registered with the Director in accordance with the requirements of §§ 6920 through 6922 of chapter 69 of this title.

     

    6800.3Licenses for radioactive materials shall be general and specific.

     

    6800.4General licenses are effective without the filing of applications with the Department or the issuance of licensing documents to particular persons.

     

    6800.5Specific licenses are issued to named persons upon applications filed pursuant to this chapter.

     

    6800.6Subject to the provisions of this chapter, a general license shall be issued to own radioactive material without regard to quantity.

     

    6800.7Notwithstanding any provision of this chapter, the general license does not authorize the manufacture, production, transfer, receipt, possession, or use of byproduct material.
