Section 22-B8506. FILE ACCESSABILITY

    8506.1Policy: Records and documents pertinent to an employee’s employment at PBC shall be maintained in Human Resources. All such records are confidential and shall not be viewed, entered or omitted without the consent of the Vice President of Human Resources or his/her designee, or in accordance with applicable law, or to comply with legal process or in defense of claims against the PBC. Pertinent records shall be maintained in the files for periods in accordance with applicable laws. Employees in professions requiring licensure or certification shall be responsible for ensuring that such documents are kept current and are on record in Human Resources.

     

    8506.2The following procedures are applicable:

     

    (a)An employee wishing to review his/her personnel file shall make an appointment with Human Resources to review the file;

     

    (b)A Human Resources representative must be present upon review of the file;

     

    (c)The employee shall receive a copy of any document that has previously been presented to him/her; and

     

    (d)Managers may view the file of one of their employees or potential employees only.
