Section 25-A2406. NUMBERS AND CAPACITIES - HANDWASHING SINK

    2406.1Handwashing sinks shall be provided for employees’ use in areas specified in Section 2411 in accordance with the D.C. Plumbing Code (2008) incorporating the International Plumbing Code (2006) or most recent edition, as amended by the D.C. Plumbing Code Supplement (Subtitle F of 12 DCMR). Pf 

     

    2406.2If approved, when food exposure is limited and handwashing sinks are not conveniently available, such as in some mobile or temporary food establishments or at some vending machine locations, employees shall use chemically treated towelettes for handwashing. 

     

    2406.3If approved and capable of removing the types of soils encountered in the food operations involved, automatic handwashing facilities may be substituted for handwashing sinks in a food establishment that has at least one (1) handwashing sink.
