Section 25-F501. DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION, AND INSTALLATION - APPROVED SYSTEM AND CLEANABLE FIXTURES*

    501.1Each tanning facility’s plumbing system shall be designed, constructed, and installed according to the International Plumbing Code (2006 edition), Subtitle F (Plumbing Code Supplement) of Title 12 of the District of Columbia Municipal Regulations.

     

    501.2Each tanning facility’s plumbing system shall be designed, constructed, installed, and maintained according to the International Plumbing Code (2006 edition), Subtitle F (Plumbing Code Supplement) of Title 12 of the District of Columbia Municipal Regulations and shall be of sufficient size to:

     

    (a)Properly convey sewage and liquid disposable waste from the premises; 

     

    (b)Avoid creating any unsanitary condition or constituting a source of  contamination to potable water, tanning equipment, and devices; and

     

    (c)Provide sufficient floor drainage to prevent excessive pooling of water or  other disposable waste in all areas where floors are subject to flooding- type cleaning or where normal operations release or discharge water or  other liquid waste on the floor.

     

    501.3Each plumbing fixture such as a handwashing facility, toilet, or urinal shall be easily cleanable.N 

     

    501.4Each tanning facility shall be equipped with effective plumbing and sewage facilities and adequate accommodations.
