Section 28-1103. OFFICERS: SELECTION, TERMS, AND VACANCIES

1103.1The Chairperson shall be appointed by the Mayor consistent with Public Law 93-415 (the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 1974), as amended.
1103.2The Vice Chairperson shall be elected by the Juvenile Justice Advisory Group by secret written ballot from a list of three (3) candidates who shall be nominated by the Chairperson. The requirement for three (3) nominees shall be subject to the availability of three (3) JJAG members willing to become candidates.
1103.3The term of service of the Chairperson shall be consistent with Mayor's Order 79-40.
1103.4The Vice Chairperson shall serve a term not to exceed one (1) year. The Vice Chairperson may serve no more than two (2) consecutive terms.
1103.5If the Office of Chairperson becomes vacant, the Vice Chairperson shall assume the chair until the Mayor appoints a new Chairperson.
1103.6If the Office of Vice Chairperson becomes vacant, a special election shall be held, consistent with the provisions of this chapter, to fill the vacancy.
