Section 29-1615. VOLUNTEERS

    1615.1 Each child-placing agency using volunteers to work directly with children on a regular basis shall:

     

    (a) Describe the duties for volunteer positions;

     

    (b) Require a personal reference for each volunteer and a criminal records and child abuse clearance;

     

    (c) Not use a volunteer to fill a staff position required by the child-placing agency’s service program plan;

     

    (d) Have a designated staff member to supervise and evaluate each volunteer;

     

    (e) Provide orientation and training for the volunteers in the philosophy of the agency, the needs of the children in care, and the needs of their families;

     

    (f) Maintain records documenting the hours and activities in which volunteers work for the agency; and

     

    (g) Require that volunteers rendering direct services to children be free of communicable and contagious diseases based upon medical reports completed within the previous twelve (12) month period.
