Section 29-2814. MASS DISINTERMENT

 

2814.1No mass disinterment shall be performed without the written authorization of the Registrar upon written application of the person requesting the mass disinterment.

 

2814.2The Registrar shall not authorize a mass disinterment unless he or she receives an order of the Court or signed permission from the next of kin authorizing the disinterment.

 

2814.3The Attorney General and the Director of the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs shall review and approve each request for mass disinterment before the Registrar may authorize the disinterment.

 

2814.4The Registrar may issue one (1) authorization to permit mass disinterment and reinterment of all remains in a mass disinterment provided that, insofar as possible, the remains of each body is identified.

 

2814.5The Registrar’s written authorization shall serve as official approval for disinterment, transportation, and reinterment.
