Section 29-2820. PRESERVATION OF ORIGINAL RECORDS

2820.1The Registrar may prepare reproductions of vital records to insure the continued preservation of the information and may dispose of the original records in accordance with the provisions of the rules and regulations governing management of public records in the District of Columbia.
2820.2The records described in § 2820.1 shall not be disposed of until the quality of the reproduction has been tested to insure that acceptable certified copies can be issued and until a copy of the document has been placed in a secure location that is other than in the building where the reproduction is kept.
