Section 29-2909. PAYMENT AND REIMBURSEMENT

2909.1The Department shall not seek reimbursement for its costs from adults or legally responsible persons receiving assistance, as specified by Title VII of the District of Columbia Public Assistance Act of 1982, D.C. Law 4-101, D.C. Code, 2001 Ed. § 4-201.01 et seq.
2909.2The APS may waive charges it might otherwise assess against self-payment adults or legally responsible persons for services provided in exigent circumstances.
2909.3Each agency or Department that charges for services, such as ambulance charges, shall be responsible for charging and collecting those fees.
2909.4The Department may require an adult, as a condition of receiving Medicaid, other health care assistance, or any other assistance under the Act, to execute a written assignment to the District of any right or claim the beneficiary has against a third party for assistance undertaken by the District, pursuant to the Health-Care Assistance Reimbursement Act of 1984, D.C. Law 5-86, D.C. Code, 2001 Ed. § 4-601 to 4-609.
2909.5Notwithstanding any other provision in this chapter, the District may, in appropriate circumstances, seek payment or reimbursement from each person responsible for an adult’s abuse, neglect or exploitation for all or any part of the costs authorized pursuant to D.C. Code, 2001 Ed. § 7-1910.
