Section 29-4399. DEFINITIONS

    4399.1When used in this chapter, the following terms and phrases shall have the meanings ascribed:

     

    Breast cancer - All primary, recurrent and metastatic cancers of the breast, including, but not limited to, infiltrating or in situ.

     

    Cervical cancer - All primary, recurrent and metastatic cancers of the cervix, including, but not limited to, infiltrating or in situ, as well as cervical dysplasia.

     

    Days - Calendar days.

     

    Emergency medical condition - A medical condition manifesting itself by acute symptoms or sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that the absence of immediate medical attention could reasonably be expected to result in placing the patient's health in serious jeopardy, serious impairment of bodily functions or serious dysfunction of any bodily part.

     

    Project WISH - Women Into Staying Healthy, the screening component of the District of Columbia Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program.

     

    Provider - Any health care professional or entity providing services pursuant to this Chapter.
