Chapter 29-49. REHABILITATIVE SERVICES FOR ABUSED AND NEGLECTED CHILDREN |
Section 29-4999. DEFINITIONS

4999.1When used in this chapter, the following terms and phrases shall have the following meanings:
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse - A person who is licensed as an advanced practice registered nurse pursuant to the District of Columbia Health Occupations Revisions Act of 1985, effective March 25, 1986 (D.C. Law 6-99; D.C. Official Code § 3-1201 et seq.) or licensed as an advanced practice registered nurse in the jurisdiction where the services are rendered.
Behavior Management - A face-to-face intervention to assist the child in understanding the consequences of inappropriate behaviors and adhering to a behavioral routine which minimizes inappropriate behaviors and their consequences.
Client - A person eligible to receive services pursuant to this Chapter.
CFSA - The District of Columbia Child and Family Services Agency.
Emergency Shelter Facility - A facility which has the same meaning as set forth in Chapter 62 of Title 29 DCMR.
Licensed Graduate Social Worker - A person who is licensed as a graduate social worker pursuant to the District of Columbia Health Occupations Revisions Act of 1985, effective March 25, 1986 (D.C. Law 6-99; D.C. Official Code § 3-1201 et seq.) or licensed as an graduate social worker in the jurisdiction where the services are rendered.
Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker - A person who is licensed as an independent clinical social worker pursuant to the District of Columbia Health Occupations Revisions Act of 1985, effective March 25, 1986 (D.C. Law 6-99; D.C. Official Code § 3-1201 et seq.) or licensed as an independent clinical social worker in the jurisdiction where the services are rendered.
Licensed Professional Counselor - A person who is licensed to practice professional counseling pursuant to the District of Columbia Health Occupations Revisions Act of 1985, effective March 25, 1986 (D.C. Law 6-99; D.C. Official Code § 3-1201 et seq.) or licensed to practice professional counseling in the jurisdiction where the services are rendered.
Medical Assistance Administration (MAA) - The Single State Agency, within the District of Columbia, Department of Health, responsible for administering the District of Columbia Medicaid Program.
Medication management - A face-to face intervention to assist the child in understanding and adhering to a prescribed pharmacologicol routine.
Physician - A person who is licensed to practice medicine pursuant to the District of Columbia Health Occupations Revisions Act of 1985, effective March 25, 1986 (D.C. Law 6-99; D.C. Official Code § 3-1201 et seq.) or licensed to practice medicine in the jurisdiction where the services are rendered.
Plan of Care - A comprehensive assessment of the child's health status including all pertinent diagnosis, prognosis, frequency and type of services required, treatment goals for each type of service ordered, rehabilitation potential, functional limitations, level of activities permitted, diet, medications and treatment, and projected date of discharge, all of which are entered in the child's medical record.
Provider - The District of Columbia Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA) and its subcontractors who provide services pursuant to this Chapter.
Psychiatrist - A physician who has completed a residency in psychiatry approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and who is licensed to practice medicine pursuant to the District of Columbia Health Occupations Revisions Act of 1985, effective March 25, 1986 (D.C. Law 6-99; D.C. Official Code § 3-1201 et seq.) or licensed to practice psychiatry in the jurisdiction where services are rendered.
Psychologist - A person who is licensed to practice psychology pursuant to the District of Columbia Health Occupations Revisions Act of 1985, effective March 25, 1986 (D.C. Law 6-99; D.C. Official Code § 3-1201 et seq.) or licensed to practice psychology in the jurisdiction where services are rendered.
Psychotherapy - The treatment, by psychological means, of problems of an emotional nature in which the licensed healthcare professional establishes a professional relationship with the patient with the object of (1) removing, modifying or retarding existing symptoms; (2) mediating disturbed patterns of behavior; and (3) promoting positive personality growth and development.
Registered Nurse - A person who is licensed to practice registered nursing pursuant to the District of Columbia Health Occupations Revisions Act of 1985, effective March 25, 1986 (D.C. Law 6-99; D.C. Official Code § 3-1201 et seq.) or licensed to practice registered nursing in the jurisdiction where services are rendered.
Residential Treatment Facility - A facility that meets the requirements set forth in sections 948 and 949 of Title 29 of the District of Columbia Municipal Regulations.
Therapeutic Foster Care - A licensed or approved foster care which is provided by a specially trained foster parent to a child who exhibits severe behavioral or emotional problems that prevent the child from being maintained in a traditional foster care setting and which provides the child with supportive and specific goal-oriented treatment services.
Youth Group Home - A facility which has the same meaning as set forth in Chapter 62 of Title 29 DCMR.
