Chapter 29-52. MEDICAID REIMBURSEMENT FOR MENTAL HEALTH REHABILITATIVE SERVICES |
Section 29-5204. COUNSELING (INDIVIDUAL ON-SITE, INDIVIDUAL OFF-SITE AND GROUP)

5204.1Counseling services shall:
(a)Consist of a face-to-face encounter;
(b)Be provided in fifteen (15) minute units;
(c)Be provided on-site or off-site, or in individual or group interventions;
(d)Require pre-authorization from DMH for additional units of service after a client has received 160 units of service;
(e)Be provided in a DMH-certified community mental health rehabilitation services agency, the client's home or other community setting or a residential facility consisting of sixteen (16) beds or less; and
(f)Meet all other requirements set forth in 22 DCMR § 3417.
5204.2Counseling services shall not be billed on the same day as a day services encounter.
5204.3Counseling services shall not be billed on the same day as intensive day treatment, community-based intervention or assertive community treatment.
