    6000.1The purpose of this chapter of the DCMR is to establish criteria and procedures for licensing foster homes for abused or neglected children.

     

    6000.2This chapter of the DCMR shall apply to:

     

    (a)Any foster home that is located within the District of Columbia and which serves children in the care and custody of CFSA, including any foster home which is operated by a child-placing agency other than CFSA; and

     

    (b)Any CFSA foster home located in another jurisdiction.

     

    6000.3The provisions of 29 DCMR §§ 1639, 1640, 1641, 1644.2 and 1644.3 do not apply to the foster homes to which this chapter of the DCMR applies.

     

    6000.4CFSA is responsible for the implementation of this chapter of the DCMR. Copies of this chapter of the DCMR shall be available from CFSA upon request.

     

    6000.5The Director of Child and Family Services Agency or his or her designee, upon written application and for good cause, may waive any provision of this chapter for licensing of kin that does not adversely affect child safety.
