Section 29-6254. FIREARMS AND EXPLOSIVES

6254.1The facility shall not permit or maintain any explosives, pyrotechnics, firearms, chemical weapons, or other similar device or substance anywhere within the facility. Nothing in this paragraph shall be construed as prohibiting law enforcement authorities from bearing arms when they are present at the facility in conjunction with their official responsibilities.

6254.2The facility shall have written policies and procedures for handling incidents involving weapons or illegal contraband within the facility. The facility immediately shall contact local law enforcement if there is a reasonable suspicion that a resident or staff member is in possession of a firearm.
