Section 3-1201. FICTITIOUS AND SAMPLE BALLOTS

  • 1201.1The Board shall publish in the D.C. Register a sample design and layout of the ballot (“fictitious ballot”) to be used in each election not later than forty-five (45) days before the election.

     

    1201.2The Board shall publish a sample ballot to be used in each election (except the official ballot to be used in the Advisory Neighborhood Commissions elections) in one or more newspapers of general circulation in the District not more than twenty-one (21) days before each election.

     

    1201.3The Board shall permit the preparation and distribution of sample ballots, subject to the following requirements:

     

    (a)  Sample ballots shall be printed or reproduced on white paper; and

     

    (b)  Sample ballots shall be prominently marked on the front with the word(s) "Sample" or "Sample Ballot."
