Chapter 31-13. LICENSING AND OPERATIONS OF TAXI METER COMPANIES |
Section 31-1324. TAXIMETER BUSINESS - REQUIRED INSPECTIONS

1324.1A taximeter shall be inspected by the taximeter business whenever it is installed, repaired, or calibrated. Inspection shall include examination of the taximeter installation and operation to verify compliance with:
(a)The taximeter specifications, type approvals, tolerances, and all other requirements of the commission, including, but not limited to a measured mile run test;
(b)The rate of fare established by the Commission;
(c)The standards set forth in the sections of the taxicab owners' rules regarding taximeters; and
(d)All other applicable federal and District regulations and guidelines.
1324.2This section shall not apply to repairs which are made exclusively to the printing mechanism or the resetting of the date and/or time on the printer receipt.
