Section 5-E3609. FINAL ACTION ON SCHOOL CLOSINGS

    3609.1The Board of Education shall take final action to approve or disapprove each proposed phasing out or closing at its next regular scheduled meeting after the special community meeting, or at a special meeting called for this purpose.

     

    3609.2Final action on each proposed phasing out or closing shall be taken by the Board of Education at a public meeting not less than thirty (30) days, nor more than sixty (60) days, from the date of publication of the notice(s) in the D.C. Register.

     

    3609.3Determination by the Board of Education of final action on each recommendation by the Superintendent of Schools for phasing out or closing of a school building shall be placed on the agenda of the meeting of the Board of Education as part of the report of the reviewing committee.

     

    3609.4The Superintendent of Schools shall be responsible for implementing the final action of the Board of Education.
