Section 7-1500. ESTABLISHMENT AND ORGANIZATION OF THE BOARD

    1500.1The District of Columbia Retirement Board (the Board) was established as an independent agency of the government of the District of Columbia pursuant to § 1-121(a) of the District of Columbia Retirement Reform Act of 1979, as amended (93 Stat. 866, Public Law 96-122; D.C. Official Code § 1-711(a)).

     

    1500.2The Board shall have exclusive authority to manage and control the District of Columbia Police Officers and Fire Fighters’ Retirement Fund and the District of Columbia Teachers’ Retirement Fund (collectively, the Funds) established by the District of Columbia Retirement Reform Act (D.C. Official Code § 1-711(a)), and to administer the retirement benefits under the Police Officers, Fire Fighters, and Teachers Retirement Benefit Replacement Plan Act of 1998, as amended (D.C. Law 12-152; D.C. Official Code §§ 1-901.01 et seq.).
