Section 7-908. UNIFORMS AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHING

908.1In addition to the wages required by this Chapter, the employer shall pay the cost of purchase, maintenance and cleaning of uniforms and protective clothing (including hats and shoes) required by the employer or by law, except that in lieu of purchasing, maintaining and cleaning plain and washable uniforms the employer may pay 15 cents ($0.15) per hour in addition to the wages required by this Chapter, with the weekly maximum payment required being six dollars ($6.00). Such payment of 15 cents ($0.15) per hour shall not apply in the case of protective clothing.
908.2When the employer purchases but the employee maintains and cleans plain and washable uniforms, the payment shall be 10 cents ($0.10) per hour in addition to the wages required by this Chapter.
908.3When the employer cleans and maintains but the employee purchases plain and washable uniforms, the payment shall be 8 cents ($0.08) per hour in addition to the wages required by this Chapter.
