Section 8-B1140. UNIVERSITY OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL SYSTEM

    1140.1The University of the District of Columbia Performance Appraisal System (hereafter "UDCPAS") shall be applicable to all non-faculty University employees, including temporary and executive appointments.

     

    1140.2The purpose of UDCPAS shall be to assure the effectiveness of the University's programs and services.

     

    1140.3Each permanent employee covered by UDCPAS shall be evaluated annually. Performance expectations will be set for all temporary employees; however, any provisions herein do not otherwise cover such employees.

     

    1140.4Employees will be evaluated on the basis of the critical elements of their positions.

     

    1140.5A critical element is defined as an aspect of a position that must be performed at least at the "Achieved Expectations" level for an employee to be retained in the position. If an employee receives "Failed Expectations" on a critical element the employee must be removed from the position by reassignment, demotion, or separation from the University.

     

    1140.6The performance appraisal cycle begins September 1 and ends August 31 of the following year.
