Section 8-A1003. EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

    1003.1Employees of the School of Law shall be hired, assigned, promoted, transferred, retained, disciplined, and otherwise treated without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, religion, creed, age, marital status, personal physical appearance, sexual orientation, family responsibilities, physical handicap, source of income, matriculation, political affiliation, citizenship status, place of residence or business, or membership or non-membership in an employee organization, except as authorized by law or court order.

     

    1003.2Each administrator employed by the School of Law shall be responsible and accountable for ensuring that the provisions of this section are broadly and fairly interpreted and carried out, and that adequate steps are taken to eliminate any practice or policy that results in unlawful discrimination.

     

    1003.3The Dean shall be responsible for ensuring that adequate resources are provided for the positive and effective administration of the Equal Employment Opportunity policies of the School of Law.

     

    1003.4The provisions of this section shall be carried out in accordance with the affirmative action requirements of D.C. Code, §§1-507 through 1-513; the Human Rights Act of 1977, as amended, D.C. Code, §1-2501 et seq.; and the applicable provisions of Title VII of the CMPA, D.C. Code, §1-607.1 et seq.

     

    1003.5The Dean is authorized to act as or to designate an employee of the School of Law to act as the Equal Employment Officer for the School of Law.
