Section 8-A113. CONDUCT OF PUBLIC HEARINGS BY COMMITTEES OF THE BOARD

    113.1A committee may conduct a public hearing on any matter within the jurisdiction of the committee by informing the Executive Assistant to the Board not less than fifteen (15) days prior to the hearing in order to provide notice to members of the Board and the public.

     

    113.2A written notice of a public hearing by a committee of the Board shall be prepared by the Executive Assistant and provided to the press, media, persons and organizations on the mailing list of the Board, and the secretary assigned to each Board member.

     

    113.3A public hearing conducted by a committee shall be conducted in the manner provided by the committee.

     

    113.4Hearings shall be chaired by the chairperson of the committee or by a member of the committee designated by the chairperson.

     

    113.5The presence of a quorum of the committee shall not be required to conduct a public hearing.

     

    113.6The chairperson of the committee holding a public hearing, or a member of the committee designated by the chairperson, shall report on the hearing at the next regular meeting of the Board, or at a special meeting of the Board held prior to the regular meeting when the report is an item properly on the agenda of the special meeting.
