Section 8-A508. TRANSFER STUDENTS

    508.1All admission requirements applicable to a student entering the School of Law for the first time shall be applicable to a student seeking to transfer from another law school.

     

    508.2The faculty shall establish procedures and guidelines regarding students entering from other law schools and the transfer of their credits.

     

    508.3In addition to the requirements for admission of new students, the Admissions Committee shall examine a transfer candidate's academic record at the law school or schools previously attended.

     

    508.4A candidate shall not be considered for admission unless his or her law school transcripts show that the candidate was a student in good standing at the law school last attended, or extenuating circumstances apply to the lack of good standing.

     

    508.5A transfer student shall be required to satisfy the same requirements as students originally enrolled at the School of Law, including taking all courses that are or have been required of students of the School of Law unless full credit for the same course or an equivalent course taken at another law school is allowed by the Dean.

     

    508.6The amount of academic credit that the Dean may allow for work done in another institution within a given period of time shall not exceed the normal amount of credit that could have been earned at the School of Law during that time.

     

    508.7No academic credits may be transferred for any course in which a student has earned less than a grade of "C" (or the equivalent on the transferring institution's marking scale).
