Section 8-A700. STUDENT GROUPS AND ORGANIZATIONS

700.1Student groups and organizations which have been officially recognized by the Board of Governors (the "Board") shall be entitled to use the facilities of the School of Law for meetings and other activities.
700.2A newly formed student group or organization may apply for recognition by submitting a written request for recognition to the Dean. The Dean shall forward the request, along with any recommendation or comments from the Dean, to the Board at its next regular meeting for action.
700.3A student group or organization seeking recognition by the Board shall include, along with its request for recognition, a copy of its written organizational statement, bylaws, or other statement of the purposes, activities, and membership requirements of the group or organization. The resolution of recognition adopted by the Board, along with the documents submitted under this provision, shall constitute the charter of the organization for purposes of the School of Law.
700.4Student groups and organizations which have been officially recognized by the Board may apply to the Dean for financial and other support as part of the annual internal budget process of the School of Law. The student activity fee, as authorized under this title, may be used to provide financial assistance to student groups and organizations.
700.5The Dean may provide office space, access to facilities, and other support to student groups and organizations as resources permit.
700.6No student group or organization shall be officially recognized if it discriminates in its membership or activities on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, creed, age, marital status, personal physical appearance, sexual orientation or preference, former matriculation, family responsibilities, physical or mental disability, source of income, place of residence or business, citizenship status, political affiliation, or membership or non-membership in any other organization, except as authorized by law or court order.
700.7The Dean may designate a member of the staff of the School of Law to provide liaison and assistance to student groups and organizations, and may delegate any of the duties of the Dean with respect to student groups and organizations to this staff member.
