Section 8-B1440. REAPPOINTMENT AND NON-REAPPOINTMENT

    1440.1Reappointment authority shall be consistent with the appointment authority.

     

    1440.2Each recommendation for reappointment and non-reappointment shall originate at the department level.

     

    1440.3Each reappointment shall be contingent upon satisfying the general criteria for the evaluation of faculty members and the specific criteria for a particular rank.

     

    1440.4If a faculty member is recommended for non-reappointment, the reasons for that recommendation shall be given in writing to the faculty member.

     

    1440.5Each contract for reappointment shall be for a definite period of service.

     

    1440.6Notice of non-reappointment, or notice of intention to recommended reappointment, shall be given in writing to each regular full-time faculty member in his or her first year of service, as follows:

     

    (a)Not later than February 15th of the first academic year of service, if the appointment expires at the end of that year; or

     

    (b)If a one (1) year appointment terminates during an academic year, at least three (3) months in advance of its termination.
