Section 8-B1443. COLLEGE COMMITTEE ON PROMOTIONS

    1443.1Each college shall have the responsibility of forming its own committee on promotions.

     

    1443.2The committee shall have a minimum of five (5) and a maximum of ten (10) voting members. Efforts shall be made to have the committee composed of a ratio of 2:2:1 (professors: associate professors: assistant professor).

     

    1443.3The committee shall include regular (full-time) faculty members, each of whom shall have a minimum of three (3) years of service to the University and shall have been elected by appropriate units within the college in the preceding academic year.

     

    1443.4The dean of the college shall serve as an ex-officio, non-voting member of the committee. The full committee shall elect its own chairperson.

     

    1443.5No committee member shall be eligible to apply for promotion during the year of service on the committee.

     

    1443.6The proceedings of the committee shall remain confidential.
