Section 8-B804. FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT

    804.1This chapter contains the rules and procedures to be followed by the University in implementing the Freedom of Information Act, D.C. Official Code §§ 2-531 - 539 (hereinafter FOIA”) and all persons (hereinafter "requesters") requesting records pursuant to the Act.

     

    804.2Employees may continue to furnish to the public, informally and without compliance with these procedures, information and records, which they customarily furnish in the regular performance of their duties.

     

    804.3The public policy of the District of Columbia Government is that all persons are entitled to full and complete information regarding the affairs of government and the official acts of those who represent them as public officials and employees consistent with the provisions of the D.C. FOIA Act. All records not exempt from disclosure shall be made available. Moreover, records exempt from mandatory disclosure shall be made available as a matter of discretion when disclosure is not prohibited by law or is not against the public interest.
