    Bill 21-7, the “Behavioral Health Coordination of Care Amendment Act of 2015”

    Councilmember Yvette M. Alexander, Chairperson of the Committee on Health and Human Services, announces a public hearing on Bill 21-7, the “Behavioral Health Coordination of Care Amendment Act of 2015”.  The hearing will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 in Room 412 of the John A. Wilson Building.

                                                                                              

    The purpose of this bill is to amend the District of Columbia Mental Health Information Act of 1978 to permit the sharing of mental health information with other licensed health professionals to facilitate the coordination of services and care.

     

    Those who wish to testify should contact Cory Davis, Legislative Assistant to the Committee on Health and Human Services, at 202-741-0904 or via e-mail at cdavis@dccouncil.us, and provide their name, address, telephone number, organizational affiliation and title (if any) by close of business on Monday, February 2, 2015. Persons wishing to testify are encouraged, but not required, to submit 15 copies of written testimony.  If submitted by the close of business on Monday, February 2, 2015, the testimony will be distributed to Councilmembers before the hearing.  Witnesses should limit their testimony to four minutes; less time will be allowed if there are a large number of witnesses.   

     

    For those unable to testify at the hearing, written statements are encouraged and will be made a part of the official record.  Copies of written statements can be emailed to cdavis@dccouncil.us or to mailed to Cory Davis at the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Room 115, Washington, D.C., 20004.  The record will close at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2015.
