674943 Errata Notice - Correcting the fines for the following infractions: "No Parking Zone" and "Disobeying Official Sign"

ERRATA NOTICE
The Administrator of the Office of Documents and Administrative Issuances (ODAI), pursuant to the authority set forth in section 309 of the District of Columbia Administrative Procedure Act, approved October 21, 1968 (82 Stat. 1203; D.C. Official Code § 2-559), hereby gives notice of a correction to Section 2601, “Parking and Other Non-moving Infractions,” of Chapter 26, “Civil Fines for Moving and Non-Moving Infractions,” of Title 18, “Vehicles and Traffic,” of the District of Columbia Municipal Regulations (DCMR). Section 1601 of the Fiscal Year 2003 Budget Support Act of 2002, effective October 1, 2002 (D.C. Law14-190; 49 DCR 6968, 7007 (July 26, 2002)) amended several fines within 18 DCMR § 2601.1 including the infraction “No Parking Zone.” The law increased the fine amounts for the following infractions from $20 to $30:
1. No Parking Zone [§§ 2000.4, 4020]; and
2. Disobeying Official Sign [§ 2400.6].
The increased fines were omitted during the codification process. The following infractions “No Parking Zone” and “Disobeying Official Sign” in 18 DCMR § 2601.1 shall read as follows:
Disobeying official $30.00
Sign [§ 2400.6]
No parking zone $30.00
[§§ 2000.4, 4020]
The fines went into effect on October 1, 2002, not upon publication of this Errata Notice in the D.C. Register.
The text of 18 DCMR § 2601.1 is corrected in accordance with the intended text of section 1601 of the Fiscal Year 2003 Budget Support Act of 2002.
