    B21-865, “Office of Youth Outcomes and Grants Establishment Act of 2016”

                Councilmember David Grosso announces the scheduling of a public hearing of the Committee on Education on B21-865, “Office of Youth Outcomes and Grants Establishment Act of 2016.” The hearing will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 31, 2016 in Room 500 of the John A. Wilson Building. 

     

                The stated purpose of B21-865 is to establish an Office on Youth Outcomes and Grants and a Commission on Youth Outcomes and Grants in the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Education to support high quality out-of-school-time programming to District of Columbia students via equitable distribution of resources, by promoting coordination among government agencies, issuing grants, tracking data and evaluation, offering technical assistance, and other tasks as needed.

     

    Those who wish to testify may sign-up online at http://bit.do/educationhearings or call the Committee on Education at (202) 724-8061 by 5:00pm Thursday, October 27. Persons wishing to testify are encouraged, but not required, to submit 15 copies of written testimony.  Witnesses appearing on his or her own behalf should limit their testimony to three minutes; witnesses representing organizations should limit their testimony to five minutes. 

     

    If you are unable to testify at the hearing, written statements are encouraged and will be made a part of the official record.  Written statements should be submitted to the Committee on Education, Council of the District of Columbia, Suite 116 of the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20004.  The record will close at 5:00 p.m. on November 14, 2016.
